My abstract and other monster paintings are never planned, but are allowed to evolve, reflecting the randomness, richness, and strangeness of being alive. Painting in this way bears a remarkable similarity to living a life: much of it on a precipice between knowing and not knowing, flying and falling, sinking and floating. Convictions, yearnings, anxieties and hopes come into play and are intertwined with a conscious desire for the fresh, the beautiful, the peculiar, the bodily, and the true.
